Shepherds of Bethlehem - Norbert Mercado
As the young couple talked in the early evening, they heard a cry from a sheep.
Abner immediately took his rod and staff, for he knew that their flocks were most likely being attacked by either wolves or lions.
Abigail took her rod and staff, too, to help her husband.
“No. Just call father. Tell him to follow and help me. Stay with mother. We can take care of this,” Abner told his wife.
He knew that if the attackers of their flocks were lions, it was not just him who would be in grave danger, but his wife as well. But if the attackers were just wolves, he could handle the problem by himself even without the help of his father.
